The Shorenstein Center's Fellowship program is designed to provide an opportunity for outstanding journalists and scholars to come together for serious reflection on the interaction of press, politics and public policy. Each Fellow spends one semester at the Center writing a research paper and is an integral participant in weekly luncheon and roundtable seminars. Papers by former Fellows have added significantly to the body of research on press and politics. The Center has had over 180 Fellows since 1986. Their papers appear in the publications section of the Web site. They form the basis of at least two books, Terrorism, War and the Press (2003) and Politics and the Press: The News Media and Their Influences (1997).
